Chinese chips: import volume decreased by 26.7% and import volume decreased by 22.9%

Recently, the General Administration of Customs released the National Key Import Commodity Value Table for March 2023 (in US dollars). Data shows that in March of this year, the import and export volume of China's integrated circuit products were 40.61 billion and 23.65 billion, respectively, with a total import and export value of 30.672 billion US dollars and 13.105 billion US dollars.


In the first three months of 2023 (January March 2023), China's imported integrated circuit products have experienced a decline in both quantity and total value.


In terms of quantity, in the first three months of this year, China imported 108.19 billion integrated circuit products, a year-on-year decrease of 22.9% compared to 140.29 billion in the same period of 2022; Export of 60.91 billion integrated circuits, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5% compared to 70.4 billion in 2022.


In terms of total output value, from January to March, the total import value of Chinese chips decreased by 26.7% from last year's $107.124 billion to $78.499 billion; The total export value also decreased from $38.506 billion last year to $31.733 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 17.6%.
